This dairy-free Duraznos con Crema is a deliciously creamy and easy to make dessert. Made with simple ingredients like fresh peaches, coconut condensed milk, and dairy-free yogurt, this peaches and cream recipe is perfect for anyone looking for a light, fruity, and refreshing dessert.
Whenever peaches are in season, I over-indulge on these sweet, sun-kissed fruits. Whether it's the yellow variety, white peaches, or nectarines, I just can't get enough!
My love for these stone fruits inspired today's recipe for peaches and cream, a classic dessert similar to dairy-free strawberries and cream.
The recipe is perfect for a dessert or snack. Plus, it uses only non-dairy ingredients, such as coconut condensed milk, to create a luscious, sweet, and tangy cream that is simply amazing.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Easy to Make: This recipe requires only 5 simple ingredients and minimal effort.
- Dairy-Free: If you are avoiding dairy for any reason, this recipe allows you to enjoy this classic dessert but without the dairy and without compromising flavor.
- Fresh and Nutritious: This refreshing and light dessert is made with fresh fruit and yogurt.
- Creamy and Silky: The combination of coconut condensed milk, yogurt and coconut cream creates a velvety, creamy texture.
- Make it Ahead: Make the recipe ahead of time, especially for parties or gatherings. The cream will become silkier and the flavors really come together the longer it sits in the refrigerator.
- Dairy-Version: If you want a dairy version, check out the "tips and variations" section or recipe card for instructions.
The Ingredients
- Fresh Peaches: Fresh ripe peaches will result in the sweetest, juiciest, and most flavorful dessert without the need of added sweetener. You can use whichever kind of peach you prefer. As you will see in the photos, I used white peaches this time.
- Yogurt: Use non-dairy yogurt, such as coconut, almond, or soy. The yogurt is a good substitute for sour cream, which is typically used in similar desserts.
- Coconut Condensed Milk: Use my easy Homemade Coconut Condensed Milk to add silkiness and sweetness to the dessert. You can also buy it at most grocery stores or order online.
- Coconut Cream adds richness and creaminess and is a good substitute for evaporated milk or media crema that's usually used in the dairy version.
- Vanilla Extract (Optional): Vanilla is optional but I like the touch of sweetness and depth of flavor it adds.
- Sweetener (Optional): If your peaches are not quite sweet enough, you can add sugar or another sweetener to enhance their sweetness.
See recipe card for quantities.
Substitutions
In place of the coconut cream, I also like to use Nutpods. It is a dairy-free creamer made of a combination of coconut cream and almonds with an amazing flavor and thick, creamy consistency.

How to Make Duraznos con Crema
1. Make the Cream
- Add the yogurt, condensed milk, cream and vanilla (if using) to a large mixing bowl.
- Use a whisk to mix well until smooth.
- Cover the bowl and chill while you prepare the peaches.
2. Prepare Peaches
- Cut the peaches in half lengthwise.
- Remove the pit from each peach half.
- Cut the peach halves into slices, about ¼ - ½ inch thick. (You can also cut the peaches into wedges or cubes if you prefer.)
3. Assemble
- Add the peaches to the cream and mix until combined.
- Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for at least 15-30 minutes.
- Serve chilled.
Special Tip
- If your peaches are not quite sweet enough:
- Add the sliced peaches to a large bowl.
- Sprinkle with 1-2 tablespoons of sugar, honey, or preferred sweetener.
- Let the peaches rest for about 15 minutes.
- Add peaches and any juice they release to the cream mixture.
How to Serve
Serve in individual bowls or glasses or set the bowl out with a serving spoon and allow people to serve themselves.
This is great garnished with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of granola.
You can also serve the peaches and cream as soon as they are mixed together. However, allowing the dessert to sit in the refrigerator helps the ingredients meld together and the peaches to absorb some of the flavors.
How to Store
Store any leftovers in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Do not freeze, as the cream will become icy and the peaches will become mushy.
Tips and Variations
- I like leaving the peel on the peaches. However, if you prefer to remove the peel, check out this blog post for an easy method.
- Serve on its own or use as a topping for other desserts like cakes or pancakes.
- For a dairy version, replace the yogurt, coconut condensed milk and dairy-free creamer with sour cream, regular sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk.
- When cutting the peaches and removing the pits, be sure to use a sharp knife to avoid accidents. Once the peach is cut in half, use the knife to loosen the pit and then remove it with your fingers.
FAQ
Yes, you can use canned peaches if fresh are not available. Just note that fresh peaches are much more nutritious and have a brighter, more vibrant flavor. You also want to be sure to fully drain the canned peaches as the syrup could make the final result too sweet.
Yes, however fresh peaches are preferred. If you use frozen peaches be sure to thaw and drain them before use.
