Discover a refreshing twist on the classic agua de sandia with this delicious Watermelon Strawberry Agua Fresca recipe. This easy-to-make Mexican drink is ready in just 10 minutes, uses only 5 simple ingredients, and is full of flavor and nutrients. With a sweet and tangy combination of watermelon and strawberries, it's the perfect beverage for hot summer days.
Add water, watermelon, strawberries, lime juice and ice to the blender.
Blend until smooth.
Taste the blended mixture. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add the sweetener of your choice and blend again to incorporate.
For an extra smooth texture, strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. If you're using a high-powered blender, like a Vitamix, straining may not be necessary.
Pour into a pitcher or bottle and refrigerate until chilled (about 1 hour).
Serve over ice in individual glasses. To prevent watering down the agua fresca, avoid adding ice directly to the pitcher.
Notes
Depending on the sweetness of your watermelon and strawberries, you may or may not need to add a sweetener. If desired, you can use cane sugar, simple syrup, or a natural sweetener like honey. I prefer honey for its subtle flavor and health benefits.
Start with one tablespoon of sweetener, blend and taste. Then, add more if needed.
